World Yoga Day in Chiang Mai

At 11:00 am on February 24th, 2013 all of us at YogaTrail went down to our local yoga studio to participate in World Yoga Day. It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining down and the birds chirping away in the YogaTree‘s front garden. To tell you the truth, it’s almost always a beautiful day in Chiang Mai, which is maybe one of the many reasons our city is a world-renowned  yoga hub. At pretty much any time of year, there are hundreds of yoga personalities visiting the area.

Taking Yoga off the Mat – on Your Mat

The yoga community is as diverse and varied as the styles of yoga that are out there. Often, we can’t even quite agree on what the term ‘yoga’ means! Ultimately, yoga is about self-realization; the word ‘yoga’ comes from the Sanskrit meaning “to bind” or “to unite”, and in fact there is something special that binds yogis together: we care about others.
