For practitioners it is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the practice, for teachers, this program can be an add on to your 200 hr TT., and would be considered an elective as part of our 300-Hour Advanced Yoga TT

Downward Dog Yoga Center has been a teaching school since 1999, and is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour levels.
Who is this for?
-For any teacher or practitioner who wants to refine their practice, as well as advance in their practice. This training is for you if you have:
- A consistent practice of at least 3 years
- A desire to hone in and refine your teaching skills.
- A wish to learn about living, practicing and teaching the 8-limbed yoga path towards cultivating a centred, grounded and purposeful life.
- An inclination to learn the skills of balancing the nervous system through the practice and teaching of Restorative Yoga.
- An aspiration to bring yoga practice off the mat and awaken the “living yoga” to transform your life.
Mysore style self-practice
This intensive is for anyone wishing to deepen their practice in a Mysore style setting. You will be learning to develop a self-practice, which creates both disciplines, but also endurance, independence, and freedom.
Led Vinyasa classes and asana lab
How to truly deepen and refine your physical and mental awareness around your practice
An in-depth look at workshop themes for classes - working your way from simple to more complex poses.
Ron Reid will break down each target pose to help you understand which areas you may need to open or strengthen and then how to combine them into a complete essence of the asana lab is to master the art of practicing and teaching intermediate and advanced arm balances, backbends, and hip openers. By providing anatomical context for your practice, you will be able to access deeper and stronger actions in your bodies that will be both grounding and stabilizing while providing the necessary means to move forward while minimizing the risk that can lead to injury.
In this training, you will learn:
Third limb - asana
Self-practice (Mysore) to strengthen self-discipline and inner sensitivity for practice that is strengthening, developmental, and ultimately healing
Fourth limb - pranayama
Working with breathing techniques to strengthen the energetic body and prepare you for meditation
Fifth limb - pratyahara (sense withdrawal)
Deepening your experience of 'going inward’s with the sublime practice of Yoga Nidra (the yogi’s sleep)
Sixth limb - dharana (concentration)
Techniques to bring about concentration as a preparation for meditation practice
Seventh limb - dhyana (meditation)
Tools and techniques for cultivating a daily practice of meditation, as well as teaching techniques
Eighth limb - samadhi (total integration)
