The Kula Kamala Foundation Yoga Teacher Training program provides a comprehensive education on the art of teaching the techniques of Yoga, including but not limited to meditation, breath work, posture, chanting, and energy components. Graduates of this program will be well suited to teaching public Yoga classes with a focus on health and healing.
During this 25 day residential training students will study yoga ethics, posture (asana), meditation (dharana & dhyana), breathwork (pranayama), history and philosophy (darshan), the use of sound & chanting (nada) and visualization in healing and holistic therapy, anatomy, pathology, alignment, yoga psychology, the energy of the chakra, kosha, klesha, and dosha, basic Ayurveda, and basic Sanskrit (the language of yoga).
Participants will learn basic principles for effective teaching, how to work effectively with beginner and intermediate practitioners as well as individuals with common health concerns. Effective adjustments, how and when to use props, how to create a safe environment for your students and for yourself, sequencing of classes, the importance of your personal practice, and how to manifest your inner teacher are also topics of study.
Tuition is $936. Meal and dormitory accomadations are included. The meal plan includes breakfast, lunch and dinner on Sundays. Meals are GMO free, Gluten Free, vegetarian (lots of vegan options too). We maintain a kitchen environment dedicated to ahimsa and as such we do not serve fish, meat or eggs. Payment plans are available at an extra cost.
