Full Description

Every day will begin with a 2-3 hour class with a daily theme that we will explore throughout the day's lessons in theory, anatomy, biomechanics, creating a class, adjustments, and finding your voice. On the teaching menu:
*Postures/Asanas: English and Sanskrit names, muscular involvement, proper alignment, adjustments, modifications; beginner and advanced asanas including arm balances and inversions
*Anatomy: skeleton, muscles, tendons, ligaments, common yoga injuries
*Teaching Methodology: observing, speaking, structuring a class, sequencing a flow
*Theory: 8 branches of yoga, including meditation and overall goal of yoga throughout history
*Importance of Physical and Spiritual Core, including breath and Bandha work
*Art of Adjustments, the non-verbal instruction
*YogaStream Lab: Fine-tuning a yoga class to advance the practice or work specifically on an area
*Philosophy: Yamas/Niyamas, teacher ethics, yogic life/food choices
*Practicum: practice teaching in groups and individually
*Yoga for Special Populations (children, athletes, older or injured people)
*Business of Yoga


*To understand the human body as it relates to yoga in a functional way including posture, muscles, joints, and body mechanics/ alignment.
*To help your students create the best alignment and enhanced experience in a pose.
*To be able to create a YogaStream class (classical yoga postures blended with functional exercises) using intelligent sequencing.
*To teach multiple formats/levels of a YogaStream class in all ways presented.
*To understand the 8 branches of yoga and how they apply to teaching.
*To be an amazing yoga teacher- attentive, observant, creative, confident, knowledgeable and personable!
