The Yoga Connection has been a registered Yoga Alliance school, training yoga teachers for over 5 years. The first yoga studio in the county, it has successfully offered yoga and its healing & health benefits to the area for nearly 10 years.
Our 200-hour teacher training provides each student with the skills to teach yoga safely and effectively. But Yoga is more than asana practice. At The Yoga Connection we introduce each student to the underlying physical and mental health benefits of yoga.

Martha Catz, , E-RYT brings physiology & movement together with the philosophy of yoga to effectively promote health and wellbeing. Today, there is a great deal of scientific research into the benefits of yoga and meditation as methods for improved physical health and stress reduction. Martha combines her experience of 13 years teaching yoga with her training in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Integrative Health coaching and her graduate degree in Health Psychology.

This training is excellent for:
Students who would like to become yoga teachers.
Students interested in furthering their personal knowledge of yoga,
Professionals who want to incorporate yoga into their work: Clinical psychologists, nurses, clinical social workers, physical therapists, massage therapists, and other integrative health professionals.

This training will guide you through:
Teaching asana and pranayama safely & effectively
Sequencing and counter-posing
Teaching methodology
Class and program design
Philosophy, anatomy and movement
Adapting yoga for different levels of students
Restorative, Kids, Hot, & Senior Yoga sessions
Guest speakers on: Kundalini, Ayurvedic, Dietian, Essential Oils, Physiological contraindications, Sleep, the brain and hormones, and Business & Marketing sense.

Our focus is to provide the essential skills and knowledge for teaching general Hatha yoga; and to establish a foundation for those who plan on continuing into a yoga therapy advanced training.
