200 hour Yoga Teacher Training
Strengthen your practice & learn specific techniques to help you teach yoga with confidence. Our curriculum is designed to deepen your understanding of: yoga philosophy, asana alignment, safe assists and adjustments, class planning and the business of yoga. Students finish our training with a strong understanding of how to: design unique classes, articulate instructions, and how to teach in a way that inspires both passion and joy for life.

Join us October 1-29th, 2014 at El Coco Loco Resort for our next 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Nicaragua retreat. This intensive is an opportunity for expansion and transformation in a safe and supportive learning environment amidst the natural beauty of the northern pacific coast of Nicaragua. Come strengthen your yoga practice and learn specific techniques to help you share your personal gifts as a yoga teacher.

Informed by a fuller understanding of bio-mechanics and therapeutic yoga alignment you will refine your own yoga postures and learn how to teach others in a safe and progressive way.

Each day is designed to help you to deepen your rapport with yourself and others and to move through the diversity of life with empowered steps.
Other areas of focus:
•Learn how chakra colors can be used diagnostically and therapeutically. Understand more fully the connection between what you think and how you feel. Have more insight to why you behave a certain way. Use guided color imagery techniques to reduce stress and bring a feeling of balance.
•Develop observation skills so that you see more clearly what is going on with people physically and emotionally so that you can tailor your verbal adjustment instructions to meet their needs.
•How to demonstrate yoga postures and clearly present your teaching points.
•Safe assists and adjustments that will help people feel more stability and freedom in their yoga postures.
•How to work towards teaching off the mat so that you can better serve your students.
•The business of yoga including: marketing, website support and networking, optimizing opportunities as a yoga teacher.
Each day is very full. There will be, on average, 7.5 hours of course work each day. There will be ½ a day off for the horseback excursion with the possibility of another time period off for an additional excursion.
Please keep in mind that this is an “intensive” retreat and that there are 200 hours of training and study to complete.
Approximate daily schedule:
8:00- 10:30 morning practice
10:30-11:30 snack and self- study (reading assignment/ journal questions)
11:30-1:30 class session
1:30 – 2:30 lunch
2:30-4:30 class session
*There will be some slight variations to integrate the seva hours, surf lessons and the horseback tour.
*Course books and materials are not included in the tuition.
•The Heart of the Yogi by Doug Keller ( $25 + shipping)
•The Bhagavad Gita translated by Stephen Mitchell (new and used from about $3.50 ↑up)
•The course handbook and a few handouts are sent as pdf’s. Program participants must print these out and bring them to the training.
•mat, block, strap (there are several extras at El Coco Loco)
•paper and pen for daily writing assignments
•1 poster board (any color) It is ok if you have to fold it to get it into your luggage.
•1 glue stick
•tennis shoes or walking/hiking shoes
•pants for horseback riding
•bug bite cream/first aid ointment (El Coco Loco has standard first aid supplies)
•your favorite snack bar for the long travel time to and from El Coco Loco (there will be lots of yummy food and snacks once you get there)
•an open mind and a desire to learn
