Our 200 hour teacher training course in detail:

Practice and training:

Pranayama, Kriya, Bandhas and Mudra: Every morning will start with Mantra chanting, few yoga kriyas such as Kapalabhati, Trataka, Nauli, Kunjal, Neti (Nasal cleaning) etc pranayam and Yogic Meditation.

The detail of performing pranayamas will be taught such as five Koshas, Pranic body, five types of Prana, the interaction of Prana with health, breath and life span, preparation, side effects and contraindications.

General awareness before pranayama: Pranayama and respiratory system, Nadis and chakras. Natural breathing, abdominal breathing, thoracic breathing, clavicular breathing, yogic breathing.

Different types of pranayama: Nadi shodhan, Sheetali,Sheetkari, Bharmri, Ujjayi, Bhastrika and Digital Pranayam and art of placing fingers on nose.

Bandhas:
All four Bandhas: Jalandhar (chin lock), Moola (root lock), Uddiyan (abdominal lock) and Maha (all lock performed together) will be taught individually and along with Pranayama and Mudra. Bandhas means hold, tighten, lock. Their function is to lock prana energy in particular areas and redirect their flow in shushumna nadi for spiritual awakening.

Yoga Mudras: Yoga mudras are devotional aesthetic gestures.
Five groups of Mudras will be taught during YTTC: hasta (hand mudras, Mana (head mudras), Kaya (postural Mudras), Bandhas (lock mudras) and Adhara (perineal mudras).

Asana practice:
After an hour break the practice of Asana will start. We assume that everybody who comes to 200 hour yoga teacher training course has already practiced yoga for a while, so in the beginning a set of 85 postures will be introduced to the students which includes

Sun salutation (3 types)
Standing Asanas and forward bends
Sitting Asanas, forward bend and backward bends
Spinal twist
Inversions ( Headstand, shoulder stand, elbow stand arm balance)

The use of Yoga props:
In our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training courses, we use various props like block, bolster, belt, blanket, different wooden props such as Viparitkarani box, Halasana box, chair, wall, and rope will be taught thoroughly in order to correct your alignment and deepen your yoga practice. So that every student can stay in the pose for longer period of time and get the effect of asana in spite of physical limitation.

The use of props is also encouraged during evening restorative and therapy yoga class.

Hand on adjustment is given to students on daily basis by the expert Yoga teacher to bring a new awareness and intelligence in your yoga practice.
Teacher’s feedback will be given to students after every class and it will be based on observation during the class.

Correction and modification:
Based on teacher’s feedback and on your own observation suggestion will be made by the teachers for correcting the faulty practice and making you aware of your individual needs.

Workshops:
Different workshops will be organized during the Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) which will help you to focus on certain areas such as
Standing postures, hip opening, shoulder opening, chest opening arm balance, backward extensions, jumping through, vinyasa flow, sequencing for different diseases and so on.

Teaching Methodology
You will start working on your teaching methodology from the very first day. Communicating your knowledge to your students is an art. It requires humbleness and sensitivity to your students.

Observation First part of yoga teaching is to look and observe at the students and find out their needs, for that you will be invited to assist in the yoga classes while someone else is teaching.

Explanation and demonstration The next step is to demonstrate the correct way or to help the student to improve, you will learn the art of explain and leading your students into a pose.

Adjustment and adaptation You will also develop the art of adapting your class to the individual needs of your students and make the whole group feel included.

Motivating At our Abhinam yoga school you will learn the art of being humble and sensitive in order to transfer your passion of yoga to your students and motivate them to deepen their knowledge.

Teaching experience:
You will be observing and assisting in a yoga class taught by qualified yoga teachers. You will get the opportunity to teach in small groups and big groups and work on the above mentioned points at least 10-15 times during the course. It will provoke your planning and structuring ability for creating your own style of a yoga class.

Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology
(a) Introduction to body systems: Musculoskeletal system (with reflection from Asana class), Cardiovascular system (with reference from Pranayama class) Digestive system
Yoga postures and Mobility
Describing human movement in Asanas
Learning about different planes of movement
Considering movements at different joints ankle, hip, sacroiliac, lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine, scapular and glenohumral joints
Diet and nutrition
Eccentric and concentric training

(b) Energetic concepts about Chakras, Kundalini, Nadis, Prana energy which are described in Tantric and Hatha Yoga texts will be discussed in details during Philosophy class.

Yoga philosophy, history of yoga, lifestyle and ethics for Yoga Teachers:
The classes of Yoga Philosophy are based on five ancient classic Yoga scriptures: Hatha yoga Pradipika, Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, , Gherand Samhita, Siva samhita and Vasishta Samhita and one tantra book Vigyan Bhairava Tantra. Following topics will be discussed in details.

- The eight limbs of Raja yoga
- The four paths of yoga
- The philosophy and aim of yoga
- The five bodies, seven chakras and their functions
- Astral body and the Mystery of mind
- The absolute and evolution of Prakriti
- Brahman, Brahma and three Gunas
- Comparative study of Yoga and Tantra texts and their application in modern yoga practices.
- Minimum decency code, ethics and life style of a yoga teacher and aspirant.

Establishing yourself as a yoga teacher
This part of the course trains you to set up your career as a yoga teacher. and involves the following:
