The Rishikesh Yogis 200-hr Yoga Teacher Trainingcourse has been designed to provide deep knowledge about the techniques to teach yoga skillfully and proficiently. Both the features of traditional yoga and contemporary yoga have been combined to provide better understanding about relation of the body to the spiritual practices and, the emotional system. The 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training course concentrates on the fusion of Vinyasa Karma Yoga, Classical Yoga and Ashtanga. The training schedule includes the study of Yoga philosophy, basic anatomy, teaching practices, ethics, and responsibilities of Yoga teachers.

This course has been designed for advance learners and as well as for individuals who are new to this field. The structure of the course has been designed to be uniquely specialized in comparison to there teacher training courses from around the world. For example, the beginning of the course a selection of Asanas is taught together with Pranayam and meditation.

(1) Philosophical Foundation of Raja and Hatha Yoga, Historical Sketch, Branches and Definition:

You will learn about the:

(i) Classical System of Raja Yoga (Patanjali, origin);
(ii) History of Raja Yoga;
(iii) Patanjali Yoga Sutras,
(iv) The 8 limbs of Yoga

This section also discusses the tradition and classical texts of Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Gheranda will also be learning about Kundalini Yoga, effects of Kundalini awakening,Chakras and the link between Yoga and Ayurveda.

(2) Anatomy and Physiology:

This section deals with the:
(i) Different systems of the body: neuro-musculoskeletal, nervous, skeletal and respiratory system;
(ii) Concept, classification and importance of:
a. Prana (lifeforce energy);
b. Vayu’s(eg Prana Vayu)
c. Nadis (energy channels);
d. Chakras
(iii) Pancha Tattva;
(iv) Pancha Kosha;
(v) Role of the Pranic system in life.

(3) Applications of Yoga:

Students will learn the principles and theory of Yoga Psychology. This section also makes students aware about relationship of the Tattvas withAntahkarana, States of Chetan, Citta Vritti, Tamas and Rajas, personality and Gunas. You will also learn about Yoga Psychotherapy which deals with the comparison between Yoga Therapy and Psychotherapy, Awareness in Yogic Practice and Therapy and Significance of Visualization. You will also be able to learn about Mudras, Shatkarmas and Bandhas, Effects ofDharana and Pratyahara Practices on the mind. You will also become aware about the importance of Yoga in Sports and also in Police and Military Services. (v) Pre-pranayama and Pranayama techniques.
