Know that your personal Yoga and Meditation practice, as a teacher is priceless to your teaching. You have to put in the time to explore the theory and the practical aspects of the discipline in order to skillfully instruct your students. It is during your personal practice that you are able to apply the theory of the discipline. With the wisdom gained from your training, personal practice and reading, you can then skillfully apply your findings to your teaching.
With the right foundation/training as a Yoga teacher you should have the wisdom and skill to teach Yoga to anyone, no matter their age, ability or disability. It is essential as a teacher you know how to help a student understand how best to adjust and practice according to their individual needs. This skill is one of the most valuable to have as a teacher, over the years I have taught thousands of individuals aged 2 to 80+ years old and have gained valuable experience in applying one fundamental truth of the discipline. Yoga is for any and everyone, especially the willing.
What I love most about being a Yoga teacher is that I get to share the best of me; the peaceful, calm, patient, gentle, kind, caring being that I am with my students. I also get to experience the best of my students. It is the most satisfying and rewarding aspects of my career/service. I could not be more grateful for this discipline and gift. I look forward to sharing and learning the discipline together with you on this journey.
