Full Description

Whether you have the calling to teach others, or you are simply exploring your own practice, anyone can benefit from learning safe and correct methods to practice yoga postures, breathing, cleansing techniques and meditation. Appreciate from an anatomical standpoint how these practices affect our physical and mental state. Learn how to modify postures to fit any type of body, and know that Yoga is indeed for everyone. Understand the correlation between the physical practice and the underlying philosophy and truly see that yoga is all-encompassing: it is life as we know it.

As a graduate of Bodhi Yoga Center’s 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program, you may continue learning with Bodhi Yoga Center as an Intern Yoga Teacher. Intern yoga teachers will continuously be mentored by resident yoga teachers. This post-training internship is the perfect opportunity to find your voice and to experience your reality unfolding as a yoga teacher.

Here are the core competencies that we hope to pass on during the training:

SUSTAINABLE SELF-PRACTICE IN HATHA YOGA
* Safely aligned foundational postures
* Mastery of the breath and bandha
* Comfort in seated meditation
* Knowledge in cleansing practices

DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF THE UNDERLYING YOGA PHILOSOPHY
* Study of ancient texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and how they relate to modern times
* Familiarity with the subtle energies and how they affect the body and mind
* Practice of equanimity in day-to-day life

SAFE GUIDANCE FOR ALL
* Thorough understanding of the human body and its different forms
* Skillful, intuitive and compassionate instructions in class
* Mindful adjustments and postural modifications

PROFESSIONALISM IN TEACHING YOGA

* Service anchored in duty and compassion
