Full Description

The intention of this retreat is to provide a quiet space in nature, back in the healing woods, where participants can explore the wonderful mystery of life. Yoga, meditation, and iRest yoga Nidra or deep relaxing self-inquiry meditation sessions will be weaved throughout the time the group is together to help you let go and connect with what is most important more easily.

The yoga style is slow, flowing, therapeutic, and adaptive. Body sensing cues will help you find your perfect pose that is comfortable and steady both in body and breath, function over form. No yoga or meditation experience required.

Simple teachings from the Buddha and yoga tradition will guide your self-exploration. Such timeless principals have helped millions of people find a greater sense of well being.

This retreat will be held at White Pine Camp, New York, United States. White Pine Camp has hosted prominent owners and guests and served as the Summer White House for President Calvin Coolidge during the summer of 1926. Today this is one of only a handful of Great Camps that is open to the public.

Although rustic in design, White Pine Camp has all the modern comforts while being situated on 3900' of shoreline on the secluded Osgood Pond and River. The views are stunning! Paddle in the morning mist or during other free time in one of the many canoes or kayaks available for guest use. Walk among the tall white pines on 2-1/2 miles of woodland trails. Along your way you will find some sweet spots to just 'be'.

This historic secluded Great Camp will serve beautifully for an introspective retreat weekend. Come see why so many others before have come to this magnificent spot in the Adirondack Mountains.

Retreat guests will be accommodated in two cottages, each with three bedrooms, dining and living spaces, full kitchen, and outside gas BBQ's grills. The kitchens are equipped for preparing simple meals, and shared bathrooms. The buildings are set apart from the main complex of buildings, a five minutes walk.

Private rooms for a single person or a couple have a queen side bed with log frame. Private rooms for two have two twin beds with log frames. The cozy quad room has two sets of Adirondack log bunk beds. Linens, quilts and bath towels are provided as are toiletries in shared bathrooms for all three types of accommodation.

Gardener's Cottage

The cottage has a living room with wood stove, dining room, kitchen, and three bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with a double bed, and one with two single beds. It also has one full bathroom with a pedestal sink, a claw-foot tub, and a separate shower and one half bathroom with a toilet and a sink. The cottage is also equipped with an outside sitting area. The Gardener's Cottage is located near the entrance to the property and is about 800 feet from the lake, down a wooded path to a lakefront sitting area with dock. The cottage can accommodate up to six people.

Gate Cottage

This cottage has a living room with wood stove, dining room area, kitchen, and three bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with a double bed, and one with two sets of bunk beds. It also has two full bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a tub. The cottage is also equipped with an outside sitting area. The Gate Cottage is located at the entrance of the property and is about 600 feet from the lake, down a wooded path to a lakefront sitting and swimming area with a dock. The cottage can accommodate up to eight people.

The two lodging buildings are a two-minute walk to a private beach and dock exclusive for our retreat guest and another three-minute walk to the boat house where we will meet for yoga and another one minute walk to the main complex.

The New Boathouse

The Gate and Gardner’s cottages set apart from the main complex is ideal for an introspective stay. The group will be using the boathouse built for Calvin Coolidge during his summer stay in 1926, which has been restored as a gathering place for events with a large open space with a wooden floor and a wood burning stove to keep you warm and cozy.

There are doors that open up to a large deck. The weather will dictate being in or outside for classes.

Breakfast and dinner will be provided. Continental breakfast food items will be available in both cottages: organic granola, yogurt, bread, peanut butter and jelly, seasonal, fruit, farm fresh eggs, and organic regular coffee and herbal teas. Vegetarian dinner entrees. Full kitchens and gas BBQs are provided in each cottage for preparing your own special needs meals if required, lunch and/or snacks.
