Our Advanced program is open to individuals who have successfully completed a 200-hour Teacher Training program. The 300-hour curriculum is designed to deepen and enrich your experience both as practitioner of yoga and as a teacher.

Full Description

Techniques Training/Practice ~ 50 Hours
We teach from the horizon of our understanding. Rich teachings come from a deep personal practice. Our training invites you to explore layers of practice through asana, meditation, mantra and pranayama and integrate them into your teaching. We will explore both traditional and modern day techniques to enrich your personal experience and broaden your scope of understanding.

Selected Topics Include:
• Asana classes with Alice & Nora
• In-class chanting and meditation
• Class observation assignments

We will offer Seminars on:
• Meditation
• How to teach Flow classes
• How to teach Restorative Yoga
• How to teach Therapeutic Yoga
• How to teach Prenatal Yoga

• Exploring Limiting Beliefs

Teaching Methodology ~ 100 Hours
This training’s focus is on refining your teaching skills and uncovering the gifts you have to share with others. Through deeper understanding of bio-mechanics, purposeful and creative approaches sequencing, potent languaging and individualized feedback, you will leave this training with more skills to teach from an authentic voice.

Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology & Biomechanics ~ 50 Hours
We will explore how and why yoga “works” by looking at anatomy within the yoga context and understanding its effects from the outermost layer of the body to its most subtle realm. You will know how to teach with increased attention to therapeutic needs, sensitivity to the energy body and more confidence with alignment instruction.

• Emotions Held in the Organs
• Strengthening the Parasympathetic Nervous System

Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers ~ 50 Hours
Understanding where we came from is a key to rich teaching. Through study of classic texts such as the Shiva Sutras and Spandakarikas, we will explore historic roots of Yoga and the many ways it remains relevant in our modern-day world. Through lectures, discussion and personal inquiry, you will dive into the heart of yoga and leave with greater ability to articulate this in your classes.

• Energetic Maintenance of Boundaries
• Conscious Communication
• Shiva Sutras
• Spanda Karikas

Practicum ~ 20 Hours
Learn how to teach by teaching! Work closely with your peers and facilitators to enhance your skills through peer teaching teaching assignments. Together we will bring light to your gifts and work with your challenges. The final module offers you the opportunity to teach a class and receive feedback on the integration of skills covered in our program.

Out of Class Hours ~ 30 Hours
1 class evaluation per month
1 studio class per week – min. 24 classes
