4 week Beginners Yoga Series is suitable for all levels of ability, Male and Female, regardless of age,experience, or background. Even experienced people will learn something from this class! Modifications will be offered for those with injuries, or limitations.
This class starts with the basics fundamental stretches that you will do in most of our classes, so it will be moderately challenging.
You will learn:
*The history and philosophy of yoga, and meditation,
*Focused breathing as the staple of your practice, necessary for grounding and stability
*Simple anatomy with an emphasis on why you’re different from everyone else
*Exploration of stretching and strengthening, and what that means in your body
*Traditional postures of Hatha yoga and modifications to those postures that can accommodate most
The 4 Week Beginner Series is not limited to any particular age group, as modifications are offered to all.
Discover the interesting and varied history of this ancient practice.
I will teach different breathing techniques, that enhance your health and bring vitality to the body long after the series ends.
The practice of Yoga honors your body including it’s strengths and perceived weaknesses.
Explanation of what it means to stretch, as well as strengthen your body.
Traditional postures will be taught from the ground up, allowing the student to understand how to access the muscles involved with modifications that allow steady progress without injury.
*Most importantly you will have fun while learning to connect mind, movement and breath that allows your body to strengthen, ease stiffness and work with your emotions to maintain or increase fluidityand balance in the body.
This beginners series will prepare you to join regularly scheduled yoga classes.
Classes start: Saturday January 9th and ends on: Saturday January 30 st 2016 12:30 – 2:30 pm
