For those only able to join the weekend workshop, sessions are described below:

Friday 12.00 – 2.00pm: Where Concentration Meets Celebration, Vinyasa Yoga and the Dance of Life
The vinyasa yoga practice is an all inclusive tool to develop the traits and temperaments that urge us closer to the best version of ourselves. Strength, flexibility and balance meet each other deep inside both the physical body and the mindful heart. Join Jason for a discussion followed by a challenging but well balanced and fun vinyasa session emphasizing the subtleties of alignment in sun salutations, standing poses, inversions and backbends. Come with a sense of adventure and leave with a refreshed outlook on your body and your yoga practice.

Friday 3.00-5.00pm: The Roots Of Vinyasa, A Look at Ashtanga Yoga
At the root of vinyasa yoga is the Ashtanga method developed by Krishnamacharya and Pattabhi Jois. This tradition gave birth to many of the sequences, themes, transitions and poses of modern yoga. In its detail and rigor blossoms a rhythmic moving meditation. This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of Ashtanga yoga through the exploration of its first series of poses, called Yoga Chitiksa or Yoga Therapy. Sun salutations, standing poses, seated poses, backbends and finishing sequences will be taught in their traditional forms with attention to subtlety and room for questions and demonstrations. All levels are welcome but generally some experience with vinyasa yoga is beneficial.

Saturday 12.00 – 2.00pm: Vinyasa Practice, Backbending from the Whole Body
In a sustainable back bend the whole body becomes a mudra. With a heightened awareness of how the arms and legs relate to the core axis, backbending poses naturally blossom so that the energy of the heart can invigorate the body in all directions. Using the electricity of Bandha and an intelligent intersection of the trunk and limbs, we hope to inspire a dynamic curve which not only feels great but traverses the spine and frees the body.

Saturday 3.00-5.00pm: Basking in the Restorative, Going Within
The active yoga practice creates the fire needed to show up as an individual in the world, the passive practice invites the energy of water used to cultivate grace and eliminate resistance to the unfolding of circumstance. After a weekend of hard work, this class will focus on the grounding, calming and rejuvenating aspect of restorative yoga and pranayama. Really, just glorified lying around!
