Full Description

Yoga is the science of transformation – the eastern counterpart to western psychology, medicine and health and wellbeing. While these western sciences have developed through history as separate entities, yoga addresses the physical, mental and spiritual parts of ourselves. For true health, happiness and vitality you cannot separate them. If you're trying yoga for the first time, this 6 week beginners course will give you a grounding in all aspects of Hatha yoga. You will learn:

asanas/postures – correct alignment for a healthy spine, joints and good posture

pranayama/breath control – better breathing for optimum health, a clear mind, relaxation, and improved energy flow

meditation – practises from a number of traditions

relaxation – true and deep rest

philosophy and psychology – wisdom from the yoga tradition
