Classes are on Tuesday nights from 7.45 to 9.15pm
Surya Namaskar, also known as Salute to the Sun, is an ancient yogic tradition of worshiping the rising or setting of the sun. It is thought that if the day and night were the breath then dawn and dusk would be that pause between the inhalation and exhalation and the opportune time for reflection, meditation and yoga practice. Surya Namaskar is a sequence of 24 postures that warms and stretches the body, connecting movement and breath. It can be used as a complete practice in itself or as a way to heat the body in preparation for further postures.
This 6 week course introduces the sequence step by step offering any modifications that may be needed, making it an available practice for all levels of physical ability and levels of yoga experience. Classes run on Tuesdays from 7.45-9.15pm and the cost is $90 or $85 concession.
