Deepen your practice on and off the mat with Loving Yoga for Body & Mind's Summer 2014 Retreat in historic Monticello.

Facilitated by yoga teacher Allie Bourgeois and instructors Shani Allen and Angelina Bellebuono, the day-long retreat will offer two yoga sessions, a meditation session and two separate workshops designed to explore and grow your creativity and self-awareness. Lunch is included in retreat price.

9 - 10 am YOGA I Allie Bourgeois, Instructor
Yin yoga {letting go} In the first hour of our day, we will explore the deep release of yin. A Yin Practice benefits the physical body by freeing up the tight connective tissue capsules that form around the muscles and joints. As the body ages, this tightening increases creating limited mobility. The moisture that keeps the joints lubricated begins to dry up and the body takes on a brittle quality often associated with old age. This physical aging is not just due to natural aging but lack of addressing the tissues that are responsible for maintain the agility of the joints. When people say “yoga keeps you young,” they are referring to the suppleness of the joints and whole body due to the moisture stimulating stretches of a practice. Yin Yoga aims to work on this directly.

10:30 am - 11:30 am WORKSHOP I: Part I Angelina Bellebuono, Instructor

Part I - Loving, experiencing art as Life: a workshop incorporating the mindful act of seeing beauty in our world using cell phone cameras (for picture taking only, please) and an awakened heart.

11:30 am -12:45 pm WORKSHOP I: Part II

Part II - Loving, experiencing art as Life: Part II is hands-on application of the process discussed in Part I of the workshop.

12:45 pm - 2 pm LUNCH
A delicious lunch prepared by Allie, outside dining with conversation and afternoon light

2 pm - 3 pm MEDITATION Allie Bourgeois, Instructor

Led by Allie, this meditation session is designed to awaken your heart.

3 pm - 4 pm WORKSHOP II/SNACK Shani Allen, Instructor
Led by Shani, this session will focus on the creation of a small, personal vision board.

4 pm - 5 pm YOGA II Allie Bourgeois, Instructor
Energizing, chakra-opening yoga: There are seven chakras, or energy centers, in the body that become blocked by long held tension and low self-esteem. But practicing poses that correspond to each chakra can release these blocks and clear the path to higher consciousness.

5 pm -5:15 pm REFLECTION & CLOSURE
A group mindful moment, homework, connection and farewells
