Full Description

Begin your mornings early with coffee or tea, and the option to go for a walk or a run on the beach. A delicious buffet breakfast is offered afterwards. On our retreat, all activities are optional and we will be flexible with our time to allow everyone to enjoy themselves and take rest as needed.
Each morning at Sunrise RoxAnn will offer a 30 minute Sun Salutation with Meditation. Before breakfast or before dinner, you can join each day a chapter of
‘A Walk through the Body’ Class (60 Min p. class) ***
This gives you plenty space and time to explore before / after lunch the many adventures that Costa Rica has to offer, such as surfing at Playa Guiones, zip-lining, all-terrain-vehicle tour to a waterfall, kayaking or stand-up-paddling and horse back riding. You also can visit nearby villages, or simply, soaking up the sun on the beautiful white sand beaches.
Another option to spend free time is relaxing at AHKí, book a massage or spa treatment or read a book by the infinity pool overlooking the jungle.
Evening dinners are always special, as we gather in the lovely open air dining room, with a grand vista of the gardens, pool and mountains and sea. Still up for yoga before going to sleep? Choose a relaxing restorative class.

A Walk Through The Body
Chapter 1 to 6

The Head / Neck / Shoulders
The Elbow / Wrist / Hands / Fingers
The Spine
The Hips
The Knees / Legs
The Ankles / Feet / Toes

We will walk through the body and address each joint. How it moves and how not.
You will learn what yoga (therapy) can do to keep your body mobile and enjoying an active life.
Why should we move the neck and the spine in six directions on a daily basis?
What could the popping and creaking be, which one hears sometimes with movement?
What is tracking and why it is so important to a healthy knee joint?
Do your toes respond to what you want them to do? Why Not!
It is all connected, a slight movement at the top of the torso can effect what is happening in the legs and the feet. When the shoulders are out of balance do you think the hips like that, they don’t. The balance of the body looked at as a whole, each piece of the puzzle fitting together.
During the retreat we will not just imagine and talk ‘How to walk through the body’, but actually do it, experiencing the relevant yoga therapy asanas and breathing techniques. In fact you will leave with a different knowledge and insight after this mind and body restoring trip. A hand-out with all relevant aspects covered in the retreat is included as well and will support your home practice.
