A weekend with Todd Tesen: Anusara inspired asanas and mantras
This special weekend workshop will feature in depth instruction on yoga philosophy and mythology, anusara inspired asana practice, pranayama, mantra and mudra.
Type of Event
Ganesha, or the “elephant headed one”, is the deity who protects us when we take on new beginnings or cross ‘thresholds’ in life. By invoking Ganesha in our yoga practice we embody abundant consciousness, and become skilful and joyful, when approaching new beginnings both on and off the mat.
On Friday evening we begin the journey ‘anew’ with Ganapati Prarthana Vedic Chanting, and introductory asana practice that honors all levels of experience. The Gaia Earth Gong will also accent the evening’s play.
Saturday morning we explore invigorating arm balance and backbend practice and on Satruday afternoon we will continue the exploration with instructional head & shoulder stand work as well as hip openers, twists and forward bends. Ganapati Prarthana Vedic Chanting will also be a part of then day’s practice. The Earth Gong will also be on hand.
Saturday evening will feature a 90 minute sacred sound journey with the Gaia Earth Gong and Cynthia Greenberg. Part of the “Connect with the Elements” series, the Gaia gong will lead us in a vibratory exploration of the element of fire within us and without. Fire Ceremony, will follow.
On Sunday morning we will weave the weekend’s work (and play!) into one last integrative session with Todd, Cynthiaand the magic of the gong.
All levels of practice will be honored and challenged.
