YOGA FOR CYCLISTS & RUNNERS workshop
Focus: Alignment and balance cyclists and runners
Friday 26th August at Chelsea Triyoga (please book via Triyoga - the
workshop should be online and on sale next week)

Aimed principally at runners and cyclists, we will be exploring the
three essential elements of balance - alignment, strength and focus –
all of these familiar to the cyclist and runner. Balances unavoidably
demand our full attention. We naturally drop extraneous thought to
focus on the task at hand. Which is why these poses can instil a deep
sense of calm (a quality not always present during a run or daily city
ride!) despite their simultaneous challenge. The sustained effort to
center and recenter, bringing not only our body and bones into balance
but also our nerve impulses, thoughts, emotions and consciousness.

Like cycling and running, we can't achieve this harmony by remaining
absolutely still. Instead, we must refresh our balance moment after
moment. Via an exploration of standing balances, arm balances and
inversions, we shall be discovering our own sense of equilibrium - our
plumb line, how to balance effort and ease, allowing us to ride and/
or run comfortably for significantly longer.
