In the first phase of this two hour workshop we focus on building a steady foundation by breaking down a series of postures from an anatomical perspective. Students sense this alignment in the postures. Using their own bodies, and observing their classmates students learn to correct habitual movement patterns they are engaging in while practicing yoga. Students are clearly taught how to use props. This knowledge helps to create a sustainable and injury free yoga practice.
We will then switch gears from the anatomical body into the "subtle body" to explore our energetic frequencies through the use of sacred mantra, meditation and ritual. We will discuss some simple mantras and their common application, how to approach a 40 day discipline drawing upon a daily ritual of clear intention, and how mantras can be used to address various life issues which we all face from time to time. With a dedicated and disciplined approach to the use of mantra we can learn to transform our seemingly chaotic worlds into powerful abodes of confidence and peace.
