Ashtanga Vinyasa Retreat -Learn to count

"Vinyasa means breathing and movement system. For each movement, there is one breath. For example, in Surya Namskar there are nine vinyasas. The first vinyasa is inhaling while raising your arms over your head, and putting your hands together; the second is exhaling while bending forward, placing your hands next to your feet, etc. In this way all asanas are assigned a certain number of vinyasas." Full Description

This retreat, led by Meri and Laura, two experienced Ashtanga practitioners, will focus on understanding how the counting of the Vinyasa works within the Ashtanga practice. Learn to move through the dynamic series of postures with focus and flow, to attain stillness of mind.

Starting from first principles you will be taught this traditional system of counting movement and breath. As the body breathes, the Mala of Yoga liberates the mind. By learning traditional Vinyasa Yoga; count, breathe and chant your way through your practice.

This workshop is offered to enhance understanding for established Yoga practitioners as well as welcoming complete beginners giving an in depth introduction to the Ashtanga Yoga system.

As always this retreat is accompanied by great natural food, created by our chef Indigo Wheeleghan. With extra comfortable king sized beds, underground sauna, hot tubs and wild outdoor heated baths.
