A 7 day yoga retreat in the heart of Toubkal National Park: a sublime haven of peace, nestling in the imposing mountain scenery of the Atlas Mountains.
Located on the slopes of Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains, known as the "roof of North Africa" on account of the majestic panoramic view that it commands, our host venue is surrounded by vast spaces, plateaus, plantations, cliffs, a lake, waterfalls, and deep ravines… the ideal environment for a yoga retreat.
Accommodation + Cuisine: Each room has its own unique character with superb Moroccan interiors style and communal areas have open fires and under floor heating. Meals are traditional Moroccan fare, using fresh local produce, mainly vegetarian and delicious! Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.
Yoga Practice: The yoga classes take place, depending on the weather, either outdoors on the terrace amidst the mountain air + open to the views, or in the spacious indoor yoga studio. There will be a morning and late afternoon class: In the mornings a 2 hour flowing yoga practice invigorates cleanses the body, focuses & calms the mind. Evening yoga gently explores the asanas (yoga postures) + pranayama (breathing techniques). Yoga nidra (yogic sleep), relaxation + meditation will also be practised during these evening sessions to help cultivate inner balance, harmony + awareness.
Outings + extra activities: There are daily guided treks available from the Kasbah’s front door, and a half-day visit to the souks of Marrakesh on the day of departure. There will also be one free afternoon and one free morning during the week giving everyone a chance to explore a little more the local environment of the village, nearby hamlets and the surrounding mountain landscape, on foot or by mule. Alternatively just rest up instead, or enjoy the hamman (steam bath) or lounge out on the terrace! Other outings can include: mule trekking (with a muleteer guide), day treks, overnight treks, strolls, field study trips, community service, educational tours.
Prices: £850 per person based on 2 sharing or a supplement for single occupancy.
Early booking is recommended if you are seeking single accommodation as places are limited and dependent on group numbers.
Price includes: Accommodation, meals, all yoga tuition, and airport transfers.
