Join Ayurvedic yoga therapist and nutritionist Arpita Shah for a weekend exploring the sister science of yoga.

Friday 5:30-8:30PM: Healing through Ayurveda
Ayurveda, “The Science of Life”, is a 5,000 year old holistic system of natural medicine which promotes happiness, health and growth. It is consider one of the most remarkable holistic approach to healthcare.
Yoga and Ayurveda are sister sciences that come together to bring natural balance to mind, body, and spirit. Yoga is the science of self-realization, while Ayurveda is the science of self-healing.
In this workshop you will learn:
• History of Ayurveda and its approach to Medicine
• Discover your own personal constitution (Dosha) and its properties
• Learn how to integrate Ayurveda in your Yoga practice
• Discover your inner power to heal
Saturday 12:30-3:30pm Ayurvedic Nutrition for your mind, body and soul
Come and explore the basic principals of balanced nutrition according to the time- honored and holistic path of Ayurveda. Learn how to get the most out of your food choices as well as easy, natural ways to improve your overall energy, metabolism, and digestion. In this workshop we will learn how Ayurveda looks at the food based upon its energetic effects using the five element model and not food Guide Pyramid. You will also learn how food affect not the physical body but also our mind and pranic body.

Saturday 4-6pm: Ayurvedic Master Yoga class: Pitta Pacifying Practice
An Ayurvedic Pitta Practice to cool your mind and body through asanas, pranayama, and meditation. In this class we will focus on helping to cool the inner fire that may be running too high.

Sunday 9-11am: Ayurvedic Master Yoga class: Vata Pacifying Practice
An Ayurvedic Vata Practice to calm and balance the Vata dosha through asanas, pranayama and meditation. We will focus on relieving tension, de-stress and relax you, and create a strong sense of groundedness.

Sunday 12-3pm: Unlocking The Mysteries of Digestion with Ayurveda
In Ayurveda the concept of Agni, our digestive fire is the single most important determinant of overall health and well-being. Ayurveda considers weak digestion as the cause for many diseases. In this workshop we will learn the various roles of Agni in the body, how to asses the state of your Agni and ways to balance your digestive fire by learning the principle of proper food combining, eating right for your dosha, and we will also explore in relation to rejuvenation by understanding the six stages of disease process (Samprapti).

13 hours YTT300/RYT200 CEU
YTT300 trainees must take the full weekend to receive 300-hour credit.
