This foundational balance workshop will help you discover everything you need to know how to balance rooting through your feet and your hands as anchors for your Yoga and life.

We will be focusing on how to deepen our practise with the balance of Sthira & Sukha. “Sthira sukham asana” from Patanjali’sYoga Sutra 2.46, defines yoga asana as a steady, comfortable posture. Sthira (steadiness) and sukha (ease) are the qualities to cultivate in yoga postures and life. Cultivating steadiness and ease in each pose requires a combination of effort and release — effort to hold the pose and maintain a grounded foundation, and release in areas of the body and mind available for relaxation in the pose.

Even if your a total beginner to Yoga you will discover how to prepare your body and mind for both the simple and more challenging standing balances and inversions. For more experienced students you will fly high and ground with marvellous magnetism.

Warm up with Vinyasa Hatha Flow sequence of weaving in Standing Balances creating new shapes and to be open to new possibilities.
Then develop strength and playfullness with hand balance set ups, learn how to lifting through your core and Bandha’s, how to build these poses safely, overcome fears, developing trust, belief and discovering your power.

What we learn through ourselves on the mat can be applied to all our life.

After lunch we will allow our food to digest with an open heart meditation, explore Restorative Yin Yoga allowing the body to release, rebalance. Centre in stillness / expand in the eternal flow.
For the last hour Radiant starry night Yoga Nidra with crystal singing bowl sound bath. Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep or aware sleep) is a deep guided meditation of self-healing, visualisation and relaxation.

• Gain individual input on specific issues, and develop personal insight and new challenges for your whole practice to thrive.
