The Bhagavad Gita is perhaps the most influential and poular text from the spiritual traditions of Inida. Spoken by Lord Krsihna to Arjuna who is undergoing a spiritual crisis, the text deals with the nature of the self, the world, ultimate reality, the purpose of human existence and the spiritual paths (yoga systems) that can be undertaken to accomplish this purpose.
Professor Edwin Bryant taught Hinduism at Harvard University for three years and is now Professor of Hinduism at Rutgers. He has received many awards and fellowships, published seven books and authored articles on Vedic history, Yoga and the Krishna tradition.
As a yoga practitioner of 36 years, some spent studying in India, Edwin strives to combine academic scholarship and rigour with sensitivity towards traditional knowledge systems. He teaches on the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita & Hindu philosophy throughout the USA and gave his first UK seminar for us in Bath last year and we are delighted to welcome him back.
