BoomerPlus__The Art and Science of Teaching Older Adults

After becoming better acquainted with the common issues our aging population faces, you’ll learn how to design a class for older adults using chairs and other props. You’ll also receive instruction on how to make basic safe adjustments and modifications when needed.

Full Description

Through observation and assessment, demonstration, hands-on training, discussion, and teaching techniques, students will learn the unique benefits of the BoomerPlus® yoga methodology for our older generations. As they become more acquainted with some of the more common and basic issues of an aging population, Students will learn how to design a class for this population using chairs and other props and to make basic safe adjustments and modifications when needed.

* Postural alignment and ergonomics for older adults
*Observation and assessment techniques
* Therapeutics and their application for specific health issues
*Exercises and practices for daily living
*Yoga postures and modifications
*Design and teach a Chair yoga class
