BWY Foundation Course
The BWY Foundation Course offers an exciting opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge and experience of yoga. It aims to develop a confident home practise and offers an excellent preparation for students who plan to join a Teacher Training Course.
Type of Event
We are going to meet on 10 Sundays, over 6 months. Starting in the mornings at 10 am ending at 5.30 pm with an hour lunchbreak.
There is a £60 registration fee and a regular membership for the BWY
The course follows a syllabus, which you find attached to this email, through which all topics are gradually introduced. The ratio between practice and theory throughout the course will be about 50/50, where practice also contains the practice of pranayama and mudras, concentration exercises and not merely asana practice. You receive an thorough introduction into all syllabus asanas, including their anatomy, benefits, modifications, balance to allow you to develop a deeper understanding and to practice them at home confidently. Part of the asana practice will also be group work, discussion and a more experimental practise, which together will probably take 3 hours per meeting. In addition you are going to learn about yoga philosophy, its history and about how ayurveda fits into your day and practice.
