Just as we have a physical body with a physical anatomy, we have an energetic body with an energetic anatomy as well. In this six day retreat, we will not only learn to understand the chakra system, but we will also learn how to balance it, realizing our power to heal ourselves. As each is different, we will discover each chakra separately, understanding their purpose, and how we lose and reinforce energy in each, with not only our yoga practice.

"I have spent the past years studying, working and living in yoga communities in Thailand, Bali, Cambodia, Australia, and India. I earned my first 200-hour certification in Thailand and my 500-hour certification in India. I have explored Hatha, Kundalini, Tantra, Satyananda and Ashtanga and found a physical practice that heals the physical and energetic bodies, mind, and spirit. I have spent a great deal of time studying and understanding our active bodies and I want to share my knowledge and experiences with you at the Chakra Healing Retreat. I hope to create a community where we can learn, support and grow with each other during the retreat, and help each other shift to a more balanced life."

Retreat Overview:

Just as we have a physical body with a physical anatomy, we have an energetic body with an energetic anatomy as well. In this five-day retreat, we will not only learn to understand the chakra system, but we will also learn how to balance it, realizing our power to heal ourselves. As each is different, we will discover each chakra separately, understanding their purpose, and how we lose and reinforce energy in each, with not only our yoga practice, but also with our lifestyle. In addition to daily talks, some workshops will include hatha yoga classes that open each chakra, as well as meditation and pranayama sessions. When the retreat is over, the guests will understand how to balance their personal chakra system, generating wellness in their individual lives. We will begin each day with a dynamic hatha yoga class, focusing on a particular chakra. There will be daily workshops where we will learn about our energetic body, beginning with an introduction, and later going into detail of each chakra individually, and their impact on our wellbeing. The workshops will consist of a talk, with questions and answers, as well as time for personal self-reflection. Our day will end with an evening restorative yoga class, to calm our body and mind. The aim of this workshop is to realize that we have the ability to heal ourselves, and to gain the knowledge to do so.

Your Workshop Programme:

Day 1 - An introduction to the community and our spiritual anatomy.
We will begin our morning with a dynamic yoga practice focusing on our root chakra, establishing a sense of grounding with yoga postures and forward bends, followed by a silent meditation. Our workshop will begin with an introduction to our spiritual anatomy, learning about the Nadis, Ida, Pingala, Sushumna and the location of our seven chakras, what the chakras are and why it is important to balance them. Once we have an overall understanding of the chakra system, we will be ready to expand on each chakra in detail over the following week. Our evening yoga class will be a remedial class where will continue to open our Root Chakra. We will close our first day with a brief introduction to pranayama, followed by a short Root Chakra pranayama session.

Day 2 - Root Chakra and Sex Chakra
We will begin our morning with yoga practice focusing on our Sex Chakra, working with flow and creativity within the practice, followed by a silent meditation. This workshop will begin with an in-depth discussion on both our Root Chakra and Sex Chakra. We will learn the effects having a weak Root and Sex Chakra can have on our wellbeing and the importance of having a healthy Root and Sex Chakra. We will also learn how we can loose and reinforce energy in those energy centers using yoga, meditation, pranayama, and lifestyle choices. After the lecture, there will be time for questions and answers, as well as an analysis of the health of your own Root Chakra. We will close the day with a restorative yoga class where we will continue to open our Sex Chakra.

Day 3 - A continuation of Sex Chakra and Solar Plexus Chakra
Our day will start with a Solar Plexus Chakra pranayama followed by active yoga class focused on our Solar Plexus Chakra. There will be core strength building as well as other Solar Plexus Chakra opening yoga postures. We will close our class and begin our day with a silent meditation. We will continue to learn about our Sex Chakra as well as learn about our Solar Plexus Chakra and the disadvantages to having weak Sex and Solar Plexus Chakras. We will then learn how we can loose and reinforce energy into these energy centers. We’ll end the workshop with a personal analysis of your Sex and Solar Plexus Chakras to better understand how to live a more balanced life. The day will close with a restorative yoga class.

Day 4 - Heart Chakra and Throat Chakra
Our day will begin with a Heart Chakra pranayama, followed by a morning yoga practice that focuses on the Heart Chakra, with a heavy influence of heart-opening poses and back bends. We’ll close morning’s practice with a guided heart meditation. Our workshop will include an in-depth analysis of our Heart Chakra and Throat Chakras. We will discuss the results of healthy and weak Heart and Throat Chakras, followed by ways to lose and reinforce energy in those chakras. The workshop will end with a personal analysis of the health of your Heart and Throat Chakras. We will have a restorative yoga class in the evening where we will continue to open our Heart Chakra.

Day 5 - Third Eye Chakra, Crown Chakra, and Chakra Healing
We will begin our day with a Throat Chakra pranayama, followed by a morning yoga practice that focuses on opening our Throat Chakra, ending with a silent meditation. Our workshop will include an in-depth talk on our Third Eye Chakra and Crown Chakras. We will discuss the benefits of healthy Third Eye and Crown Chakras and repercussions of weak chakras. Following, we will learn how to lose and reinforce energy into those energy centers, using yoga, meditation, pranayama and lifestyle choices. We will also have an analysis of the health of your own Third Eye and Crown Chakras. We will complete the workshop with a personal analysis of our entire chakra system so that we have the tools to continue healing ourselves after we leave the retreat. We will end the workshop with a restorative yoga class.

Day 6-Crown Chakra and Chakra Healing
Morning yoga practice focusing on opening our Third Eye and Crown Chakras followed by a silent meditation
