Chaturanga: strength, alignment & safety

Have you ever wondered if you’re doing Chaturanga correctly? Chaturanga (or 4-limbed staff pose) is used many times during Vinyasa classes as a transition, but it’s also a pose of its own. Yet it is rarely focused on and over time, improper alignment can lead to repetitive stress injury.

Full Description

In this two-hour workshop you will learn:
- More about the anatomy of the shoulders and the upper body
- The most common pitfalls of the pose and how to correct them with proper alignment and engagement of key muscle groups.

We will begin with a warm up of sun salutations before learning more about coming into the pose as safely and effectively as possible and transitioning into upward facing dog.

Come with a sense of play, ready to approach the pose with new eyes and ears.
