As yoga therapists and teachers we are often in the position of bearing witness to our students’ deepest questions, discoveries and awakenings. When met with unfiltered awareness and a compassionate heart, awakenings can be affirmed, past traumas can be integrated and questions can be deepened for further investigation without the need for an answer. This weekend is an opportunity to practice exercises that will help us to water the seeds of compassion—seeds that Roshi Joan Halifax says we all have, but have not been trained to develop. Marcia and Linda have chosen practices drawn from their many years of bearing witness including Buddhist contemplative care, non-dual meditation including Yoga Nidra (iRest), energy work and Compassionate Communication.
