Declutter: Meditation as Spring Cleaning for your Mind

During the Spring we clean our homes and declutter our closets to create space. We take these actions to practice letting go, and to unburden ourselves, so we feel lighter and freer. In the safe space of sangha we will use yoga practices specifically designed and time tested to discern what you want to keep and what you are ready to let go of now.

Full Description

During the Spring we clean our homes and declutter our closets to create space. We take these actions to practice letting go, and to unburden ourselves, so we feel lighter and freer. It is the urban and personal version of tilling the soil to prepare for planting new seeds. What we put into or welcome to arise in the newly free space matters, too.

In this workshop you will prepare your body and mind to allow old ideas to arise. Every experience you have is stored in the ‘chitta’ of your mind and the tissue of your body. These impressions or ‘samskaras’ give rise to the ‘vrittis’ that fill our minds on a daily basis.

In the safe and held space of sangha you will use yoga practices specifically designed and time tested to discern what you want to keep and what you are ready to let go of now. This act of discernment is the function of buddhi, the wise mind that chooses and sees more clearly what is right/wrong for you.

What we sometimes feel we cannot do alone, we can better do together. There are reasons that for centuries people have come together to meditate. In the presence of each other, and with a guide, you will feel strengthened in your resolve. In the space that is created we will plant new seeds to blossom in the coming months.
