These practices are a gift to yourself in our busy, hurried world.
Restorative yoga helps you achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation by calming the central nervous system. Props are used to support the body in order to hold the poses for a longer time. This practice allows you to go deeper into the body, mind and spirit for a deep healing experience.
Yoga nidra or "yogic sleep" is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. You will be taken through a rotation of consciousness through the different parts of your body to create complete relaxation. It is said that about one hour of yoga nidra is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep. Yoga nidra allows for the release of stress and tension on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon the breath, a sound, an object, visualization, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment. It helps you to remain unattached to the fluctuations of your mind. Meditation is one of the most effective forms of stress reduction. In this practice, you will sit or lie down for about 5 minutes in a silent meditation with your focus on your breath.
