Deepening your Practice
Discover the deeper aspects of the supporting classical practices to your yoga asana practice. Participants will gain a fuller understanding of the supporting practices to asana and their practical application in a standard class format using Patanjali's Eight Limbs of Yoga.
Type of Event
This five week series commences on Friday 6th May and runs until Friday 3rd June 2016.
Cost for the five week series is $80. You are also welcome to drop in to the sessions at $18 per session.
This experiential workshop series will enable participants to delve deeper within their yoga practice through applying Pantanjali's eight limbs of yoga. Gain understanding and practical application of Dharana - intention setting and focus; Asana - cultivating ease and stability in yoga postures, workshoping standing postures and cultivating lightness with partner work; Pranayama - breath awareness and techniques to harness prana (life force); Pratyahara - redirection of the senses to naturally turn inward and to harness prana; Dharana, Dhyana and beyond - cultivating the unbroken flow of inward awareness to prepare for and experience meditation. The five week series will explore how these classical yoga practices are just as relevant today and can lead us to the same qualities in our lives on and off the mat.
