This workshop is a guided, non-choreographed deep movement practice which will allow us to release energetic blockages in the body, significantly reduce stress and reeducate the muscles to move in new sustainable ways.

Saturday Dec 13 from 12:00 - 2:00pm
BE HERE NOW - A Movement and Mindfulness Workshop
When we are not in our bodies we become ungrounded and increasingly vulnerable to stress, tension and trauma. In this workshop, learn how a small amount of daily meditation and movement can help mitigate and release the effects of stress and trauma. Dance and move with gentle guidance to help you embody your essence and afterwards relax to sounds of the gong. Gong sounds offer an opportunity to heal and release while balancing the parasympathetic nervous system.

Full Description

DHARMA DANCE at Shakti Yoga

In many shamanic societies, if you came to a shaman or medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions.

When did you stop dancing?
When did you stop singing?
When did you stop being enchanted by stories?
When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?

“Where we have stopped dancing, singing, being enchanted by stories, or finding comfort in silence is where we have experience the loss of soul. Dancing, singing, storytelling, and silence are the four universal healing salves.” - Gabrielle Roth
