About Nicole
Nicole Gibbard began her career as a horse trainer, competition rider and teacher. From 2001 she moved into the world of fitness and Yoga and since, she has offered classes, holidays and presented at conventions for over 15 years in all fitness trends as well as personal training. She now specialises in teaching various systems of yoga including Astanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Anusara, Elemental and has completed over 1500 hours of training (including yoga therapeutics and yoga as medicine) alone.

Nicole is also a keen mountain biker, hiker, swimmer, snowboarder and horse rider and her passion for nature, animals and travel gives her the earthy, grounding and “real” quality inspiring her to offer students the most amazing yOgAcTiViTy retreats around the world. The self exploration of yoga harmoiously merged with various outdoor activities in nature, enable students to take their “on the mat” experiences “off the mat” and realise their dreams through a multitued of fabulously delightful mediums.

Yoga Classes
Basic and simple stretching of muscles, to open hips, chest and shoulders and to deepen the seat of the rider. Gentle twisting exercises to release tension in the back and neck area will be harmoniously balanced with strengthening movements for the centre of the body, improving stability, posture and allowing limbs to move independently.

We will be bringing greater awareness and connection to the mind and body via the breath and learn how to use the breath to calm anxiety, tension and stress before and during our riding experiences.

We will also work on various balancing techniques and use yoga as therapy training for people with specific injuries, blocks, pain, discomfort and psychological riding issues.

Experienced riders will be able to address riding issues off the horse, rebalancing their own bodies, freeing up blocked muscles, creating a greater understanding of how their own misalignments can be corrected and how this new awareness can help them to fine tune their riding skills when back in the saddle.

Beginner riders can benefit enormously through carefully tailored yoga classes which prepare the student both mentally and physically for their first experience on the horse. Using a series of visualisation techniques, creating a greater awareness of the body, mind and breath and a better understanding of the horse, riding simply becomes an extension of the yoga practice and the horse then becomes the teacher.
