Adjustments, corrections, whatever name they go by, yoga teachers often employ hands-on techniques in their classes. In many cases they are extremely beneficial, yet at times a boundary is crossed and the teacher is not even aware of it.
The use of touch in our yoga classes is not a right but a privilege. It is up to the teacher to determine the correct time, the right student, and indeed, whether it is justified at all to place our hands on them.
In this workshop, John will blend an active clinic of his most treasured and useful enhancements for use during a practice as well as a lecture/discussion on the ethics of touch within the class environment. Many of these techniques are not the 'standard fare', but rather gems picked up during his many years of training as well as some developed on his own.
From an opening warm up, through the body of the class, leading into and during savanna, tools will be taught and shared so that teachers can better enhance the student's practice without ever being invasive or inappropriate.
