Sue Haynes MAR, ART(regd)

Sue Haynes is a leading Leeds-based reflexologist who has been specialising in helping couples who are trying to conceive for the past 10 years. Her passion for reflexology, particularly in relation to fertility, is matched only by her passion to make the therapy accessible to as many people as possible. She recognises that not everyone has the time or money to visit a reflexologist every week, so she’s developed a workshop designed to empower couples who are trying for a baby to enhance their fertility and give reflexology treatments to each other.

Reflexology is a deeply relaxing therapy which can restore balance and harmony and help melt away the stresses and strains of everyday life, as well as the particular stresses associated with trying to conceive.

Rachel Gosling

Rachel has been teaching Yoga in Leeds for a number of years. She originally trained in a style called Vinyasa Flow, which focusses on the embodiment of movement. Further training has led her down the path of more therapeutic styles, such as restorative yoga. Having experienced her own physical and mental health issues (for which she turned to yoga to aid recovery), she enjoys sharing the therapeutic benefits of yoga: building strength from the inside and finding comfort and ease both physically and mentally.

Fertility yoga uses a specific series of stretches that have a positive effect on reproductive health. Every posture has a supporting and nurturing effect on the reproductive system or the endocrine system – the hormonal headquarters.

By the end of this workshop you should:

have a good understanding of the reproductive process
know what the common barriers to conception are
have a list of easy things that you can do which might enhance your fertility
have a toolkit of yoga poses that are designed to enhance your fertility and a meditation that you can practice at home
know how to carry out a short reflexology treatment on each other, designed to restore balance and harmony.
You will need to bring a hand towel and a pillow each.
