Finding Your 'Flow' State
Join Molly Martin on Saturday 7th March for this workshop focused on helping you experience a blissful state of flow during your yoga practice.
Type of Event
When was the last time you were so immersed in the immediate experience of what you were doing that you lost track of time? Scientific research suggests that we are at our most creative, productive, and happy when we are in a state of ‘flow’, with renowned psychologist and researcher Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi describing the experience as a state where “actions and awareness are merged, dissolving our self-consciousness or self awareness”.
Did you know that practicing yoga is an excellent way to enter the flow state? But sometimes in class it can be difficult because we’re unfamiliar with the poses, we don’t know what’s coming next, or we’re concerned about what other people are doing. In this workshop led by Molly Martin we will use repetitive sequencing to allow us to access our flow state during a breath-synchronised, flowing, physical practice. We will then move to bring the flow state into a more gentle restorative, breathing & meditation practice.
Once armed with the awareness of what a state of flow feels like when doing yoga, we then have the very beneficial option of bringing it off the mat and into our daily lives.
