Five Winds 200-hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training & Advanced Studies Program

Five Winds 200-hr Teacher Training & Advanced Yoga Studies Program Starts April 20, 2018!

This is a Hatha-style training program. The teachings will be heavily influenced by principles of Viniyoga, an approach that emphasizes adaptation of yoga practices to meet individual needs rather than a 'one-size fits all' approach.

Full Description

Are you ready to deepen your study of yoga and your practice? Thinking about becoming a yoga teacher because you are passionate about how yoga transforms lives?

Join Dawn Miller and Cathy Picozzi for the Five Winds 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training starting April 2018.

This training is rooted in principles from the Viniyoga approach: teaching function over form, repetition before stay in poses, adapting/regulating the breath in asana, and the art and strategy of sequencing.

There will be a special emphasis in the program on teaching to aging populations (hint: we are all aging!), countering the consequences of sedentary work environments (think computers, phones, and bad office chairs!), and facilitating positive change in lifestyle and habits through yoga practice.

This is not a power yoga or fast-flowing approach but rather one that encourages cultivation of mindful awareness through the integration of breath, attention, and movement.

This training is for serious students, aspiring teachers, and those who already teach and wish to refine their skills. Successful completion of the training will qualify participants to receive their 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher credential from Yoga Alliance (YA).

The Five Winds 200-hr training program is Yoga Alliance-approved and meets or exceeds the standards in each of the following required areas: 1) Techniques, Training, & Practice; 2) Teaching Methodology; 3) Anatomy & Physiology; 4) Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers; and 5) Practicum.
