A gorgeous week together on the stunning turquoise coast close to the bohemian town of Kas, Turkey. Each day will be dedicated to a different movement of energy and a different flow of awareness as we connect to the elements around us and the chakras in our energetic body as we immerse ourselves in a very fluid and natural way of moving, breathing and living in alignment with nature.
Nature teaches us to slow down, to relax and to let life unfold naturally. We learn to trust the process of life and to step away from the pushing, the pulling and the stress of everyday life. We learn when is the right time to dynamically present ourselves with the qualities of the fire / samana vayu or to surrender and be patient like the qualities of the earth / apana vayu.
Going on a retreat creates time and space to reflect, revaluate and make a decision to priorities what really matters. When we show up for our yoga practice we have the incredible ability to listen to the wisdom of the body and to learn what it really feels like to let go of that which no longer serves us in order to move in a more sustainable and inspiring direction.
Our daily Prana Vinyasa yoga practice:
Our daily yoga will be fuelled by the breath and each practice is carefully crafted and choreographed in the Prana Vinyasa way of incorporating pulsing, body and rhythmic vinyasas. We tap into the five main movements of Prana and experience them within our meditation practice, with the use of mudras, asanas, movement meditations, visualisations and so more.
The intention of our morning Prana Vinyasa yoga practice will be to energise and for you to create a deeper relationship and develop an understanding of how you can awaken this pathway of energy on and off the yoga mat. The intention of the evening Prana Vinyasa yoga practice will be to create a ripe environment for relaxation and rejuvenation as we soak up the experiences of the day and create space for our cells to be bathed in this somatic experience.
You will be introduced to the five main Vayus or movements of energy within the body. These are - Apana; the downward rooting flow of energy. Udana; the rising and uplifting flow of energy. Samana; the drawing inward and contraction of energy. Vyana; the expansive and opening movement of energy. Prana; the all pervading and all encompassing movement of energy. We naturally use and express these movements of energy within our daily life but after this retreat you will have a embodied understanding of their function, their location, the direction in which they move and how they can support and enhance your yoga practice.
Optional Teacher training
Our week together also includes an optional 30 hour teacher training with Delamay!
The Vayus are the winds or currents within the body that energetically assist you with alignment, strength, stability and help with avoiding injury and much more. We will meet for an additional 2 hours each day and continue to unravel the mysteries of the Vayus within Vinyasa. We will be covering a variety of Prana Vinyasa hands on enhancements to really anchor the Vayu experience within your body so you can pass this onto your students. Our Vinyasa practice will be slow moving to ensure you are tapping in and using the full potential of the Vayus.
You will receive a 30-minute 1:2:1 mentorship session with Delamay to establish your individual needs for this unique teacher training and a manual to write notes in and to take home.
Requirements: You will be expected to attend all classes during the retreat plus complete one written assignment maximum 2 pages long (title tbc) due on the last day of the retreat and to give a 30 minute presentation which includes teaching a 10 minute meditation and demonstrate to the group three different asanas highlighting the movement of energy within each pose.
The teacher training is suitable for anyone starting out on the teaching path or has been on it for many years.
