Focus on the Hips
A hip opening workshop to maximise mobility and release tension in the hips area - in time to greet the upcoming Spring! Various postures, flowing sequences and breathing practice will be accompanied by basic information on anatomy and modifications available to students of all levels.
Type of Event
Our hips are often an area of tightness in our bodies, whether from spending a lot of time sitting or from doing a lot of sports like running or cycling. Failing to nurture the hips can also lead to discomfort in other areas of the body such as the lower back, knees and ankles.
In this hip opening workshop we will therefore not only look at the hip flexors but also at the pelvis, the lower back and the legs. Through basic anatomy, and imagery, we will learn to maximise mobility and release tension and habitual patterns. We will work towards finding more freedom of movement and increased energy in the body: in perfect time to wave goodbye to winter and greet the upcoming Spring!
This vinyasa flow workshop will involve standing, seated and reclined hip opening postures with modifications for students working at different levels. All levels are welcome.
