*Foundations of Asana - Building from the Ground Up*

Asanas have the ability to release trapped energy, sooth tensions, and improve overall sense of well-being. Join us as we explore the basics of asana and how to utilize such tools as pranayam, mudras and bandha to maximize the benefits of your practice. In this workshop you will learn to tap into you prana (invisible bio energy), focus on alignment, core integration and stabilization that will enhance the benefits of yoga.

*First Module - May 21, 2016
Suyra Namaskars, Meditation & Pranayam

The Namaskars are the base in which a strong Vinyasa practice is built. Easily accessible to beginners and is the foundation from which all asanas begin. The quality of one's breath and prana determines the quality of mind. We will learn to cultivate breath awareness via pranayam and melt into meditation to increase patience and ease stress.

*Second Module - June 18, 2016
Standing, Balancing Asanas & Mudras

Standing asanas are energetic poses that encourage straight posture and proper alignment. We will target different body systems as we play with balance. As we flow we will weave in Mudras, also known as hand yoga, typically involves placing the hands and fingers in certain positions to clear the psychic centers and subtle channels in the body that allows life force to flow freely.

Arm Balancing, Inversions & Bandha

Arm balancing builds strength in the arms, wrists, abdominal and back muscles. We will flow through arm balances to build agni, "fire" combined with Bandha, "body locks" to control energy from the breath to lighten your load as we fly into fun challenging and empowering inversions.

Modules may be taken as series or as individual workshops!
