The Lotus pose is arguably the most iconic and recognized position in yoga . Lotus is one of those poses that everyone wants to do, but is difficult for people to Full Lotus Posture (Padmasana) is a wonderful Yoga pose for opening up the hips and creating flexibility in the ankles and knees.
Practiced in moderation, the Lotus can invigorate the nerves of your legs and thighs. The strength and flexibility that you gain by practicing the Lotus Posture can even help you to avoid injuries when you're partaking in other activities, such as hiking and skiing. Padamasana (lotus posture) is a key position that can support the spine, digestive system and bring stability to both mind and body.
Part of the power and effectiveness of the Lotus Position comes from the triangle shape your body assumes. Many Eastern cultures believe that a triangular shape, such as those of the pyramids of Egypt, harnesses life energy. Triangles also symbolize knowledge, will, and action, three key aspects of your Yoga practice. By turning your body into a mini-pyramid, you can tap into this mystical energy and stay very deeply grounded at the same time.
This fun workshop will unlock the tools & techniques for you to safely open your hips, and take away pressure from the knees and lower back. Learn how to avoid ankle injuries & prep for the full pose safely as well as effectively.
