*Please bring a journal, writing utensil and anything else you need for comfort such as a blanket, warm socks and snacks. We will be building a small altar as part of this workshop. Any items you would like to place on the altar to charge with our energy during this workshop are welcome. Examples of items you are welcome to bring are crystals, flowers, rocks, trinkets, letters, pictures, jewelry. (I once had someone bring their child's small Super Mario toy and put it on the altar because he wanted to contribute an item to the altar building portion as well - really, anything is welcome!)
A little about Colleen Romano:
I started practicing yoga after suffering from severe postpartum depression. I needed something to do that got me out of the house, was good for my body and helped soften the severe anxiety I was experiencing. After the first class, I was overwhelmed with how great I felt and how easily I was able to let go of all the anxieties and worries through out class. I felt high and excited about life again. I was hooked, to say the least. Not long after starting yoga, I built an at home yoga practice. I couldn’t get enough. I was practicing every night in my living room, signing up for any and every series or workshop I could get in to. I traveled to Victoria to learn about the history and philosophy behind yoga. Finally, after years of dreaming, I enrolled in a yoga teacher training. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would actually teach, or just take the training as another way to sink my teeth in further. However the more I immersed myself in the history, philosophy and physiology of the practice, the more my passion for yoga climbed out of me like a fierce fire within. I had to share it with the take the time to thoughtfully prepare every yoga class with the same passion and zest as I do for everything else in life. I am committed to helping you feel energized, accepted, supported and at peace by the end of the class. Yoga is one of the major loves of my life and I want to share that love with anyone who will have passionately been practicing yoga since 2013 and became a Certified Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance in December of have explored many styles of yoga, studios and teachers. I fell in love with the history and philosophy of yoga and the calm and mindful life it has brought me. And that is what I hope to bring to my students.
We look forward to meeting you,
