The course runs for one month from July to August 2014 comprising 200 hours of training. The course is structured to allow you to find your personal practice, which will inspire you to develop a personal teaching style that honours the tradition of yoga and remains true to your experiences and interests. The course will be held Monday – Saturday during the intensive.

Course overview:

Week 1: Hatha yoga: the Physical basis of yoga

Week 2: Deepening your Practice: Observation and Looking In

Week 3: Connecting to Students through Teaching

Week 4: The Art of a Yoga Class

Each week will give more depth and context to your yoga by focusing on an essential element of yoga teaching. Taught experientially, specific topic will include yoga philosophy and mysticism; the anatomy of movement; how to assist, adjust, modify and adapt the practice for injuries and individual people.

This unique Yoga Teacher Training programme, accredited by the Yoga Alliance, is designed to reveal your individual style and voice as a practitioner and teacher of yoga. Created for dedicated yoga students and practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of asana and create an individual personal practice, this program will teach from traditional forms and self-reflection to connect to the beauty, strength and grace of your body in Vinyasa.

This course will deepen your awareness of the essence of yoga and allow you to teach with consciousness, creativity and authenticity. This is a small group course to ensure that it meets the precise needs of the group and that each person receives individual attention and continued mentoring and support.

This teacher training has been designed to help you:

- Strengthen your practice of asana, pranayama and meditation
- Understand anatomy and physiology experientially
- Study the foundations of yoga philosophy and mysticism
- Explore those aspects of the practice that inspire you
- Learn the art of sequencing and class structure
- Develop an individual teaching style that honours the tradition of yoga and remains true to your own experience

The course consists of week and weekend modules focusing on specific themes to give depth by focusing your study on an essential element of yoga. Course Assessment

The week- long intensives covering the yoga technique and essence and the intensive weekends are all mandatory. Full attendance is required for certification. At the end of the course to receive certification, you will be asked to lead an assessment class, submit a portfolio including summaries of reading materials, class critiques and an presentation on a specific topic of interest in yoga.
