Yogabellies Pregnancy Yoga Classes coming to Guildford!
Each class lasts an hour and 15 minutes and you will receive a YogaBellies Birth Pack, which includes information on Prenatal nutrition, breathing techniques and some local pregnancy services information. There is also a YogaBellies Deep Relaxation & Self Hypnosis for Childbirth CD included in your pack.
Who is this course for?
Any mum-to-be over 16 weeks pregnant.
If you are experiencing a normal pregnancy and would like to join the course in your third trimester, this is fine, but we would advise you to speak with your doctor or midwife.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or have had any serious problems during pregnancy, please run this past your GP or midwife before starting the class and discuss with me.
I haven't tried Yoga before - is this course for me?
Absolutely! Most of our mums are new to Yoga and trying it for the first time. That said, if you have had a good Yoga practice prior to pregnancy this is also a worthwhile course.
What happens at the classes?
I only take a maximum of 12 mums per class so you will get lots of one-to-one attention and each week we cover a different topic such as bonding with baby, pre natal nutrition or preparing for the big day. We also cover things like breathing techniques and positions for labour. The yoga postures are all suitable for pregnancy and will be adapted as per your trimester, and focus on building strength and stamina and keeping you flexible and fit. This class offers yoga for pregnancy but also covers birth education and offers the opportunity to meet like minded mums locally.
I will provide Yoga mats and blocks for use in the class, and also blankets for relaxation. Should you wish to purchase your own accessories I can supply a price list.
You need to bring:
Comfortable clothing that you can move in - leggings/ jog suit bottoms and a vest or t-shirt should be fine. Please note Yoga is traditionally practiced barefoot so you will not need any special footwear.
Socks and a warm jumper or cardigan for during relaxation.
Bottle of water to sip from.
Refreshment area for Tea & Biscuits after class.
