Full Description

This program provides a multi-disciplinary approach to Hatha yoga and meditation. This program emphasizes self-study and practice combined with a well supported practicum and teaching apprenticeship. We’ll make sure that you have both the yoga and teaching skills you need to share what you love with yogis of all ages and abilities. The program fees include unlimited yoga classes at Gratitude Yoga for ten-months starting with the month your training begins.

You Will:
Learn Sanskrit names, alignment principles, cues and variations and modifications for 60-basic asanas
Read, study and discuss Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
Learn about the central channel, movement of prana and the chakra energy centers
Explore the anatomy of breath and learn basic breath awareness and various pranayama techniques
Explore the relationship of the mind, skeletal system, organs and endocrine system in asana
Learn about the Ayurvedic approach to asana, panayama, meditation and diet
Learn about therapeutic applications of yoga for special populations
Learn an introduction to the Sanskrit language, mantra practice and chanting
Explore your own practice limitations, and strengths with personalized direction and support
Discover the energetics of sequencing an effective and safe practice
Learn hands on adjustment techniques and practice modifications for both beginning and more advanced students
Find your own voice and learn how to use your own practice, yoga philosophy, ethics and experience as a resource in your teaching
