Asana and Workshop

Do you suffer from lower back pain, tight hip flexors and impossible hamstrings? Do you spend much of your day sitting? Then this workshop is for you. We will begin with a slow flow opening; this class will build on itself through variations of Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar), standing poses and ever important seated poses followed by deep relaxation. You will learn the common pitfalls in hip opening work, and strategies to encourage hip opening instead of hindering it. Open hips will lead to freer back bends and forward folds, as well as stronger arm balances and better posture. Delve in and develop a new level of comfort in your body and in your practice.

Led by Pamela Godbois, RYT 200. Pam came to yoga in 2000 while in graduate school for Social Work after years of chronic back pain. She noticed that her back pain was decreasing and she had found a new home on the mat. Yoga has brought a sense of peace and calm to her body and mind and allowed her to gain perspective on life. As a result, Pam is skilled at encouraging her students to let go of expectations and see what happens.

Pam's goal in teaching is to provide a fun, supportive and safe environment for individuals to grow their practice both on and off the mat. As a teacher, Pam believes in letting go of competition and judgment and accepting who we are today. You will find her workshop infused with introspection, reflection and humor.
