The second of my monthly Sunday Shake Workshops will guide you through how to manage lowerback and hip complaints. The lower back area can become tight and restricted in people who spend a lot of time sitting as well as more active people such as runners and cyclists.
The workshop will take you through lower back release techniques, sacroiliac stabilisation and release exercises as well as deep hamstring and psoas yoga releases. These areas work together to contribute to a healthy lower back, pelvis and session will start with body awareness and active anatomy exercises, exploring our own bodies and which exercises may help us the most. We will move into a yoga flow to release the lower back, bring awareness to the sacro-iliac joints and look at preventing injury in some yoga poses, then we’ll move into the hips and hamstrings.
Expect deep long, releasing stretches and a whole new understanding of how your lower back relates to pelvis and hip area. We will finish the session with healing pranayama (breathing techniques) and a deep relaxation.
